Companies that rely on innovation and technology as a major part of their business invest an immense amount of time and capital in their technology and branding to bring products to market. Innovative companies need to be confident that their intellectual property investments are protected. Zach helps companies protect these investments by quickly and decisively resolving disputes with competitors and building a company’s IP portfolio.
Zach has a wide range of litigation experience, securing favorable outcomes for companies in patent, trademark, and trade dress disputes relating to a variety of industries and technological areas such as semiconductors, solar power conversion, batteries, signal processing, medical devices, software, and merchandise display systems. He has also helped companies protect their innovations by invalidating competitor patents in inter partes review and other post-issuance proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Zach also counsels companies to develop robust IP programs, including developing patent portfolios, providing patentability analysis, and analyzing competitor IP portfolios. He has counseled companies and prosecuted patents in a variety of industries and technological areas such as consumer electronics, business methods, and software.
Prior to law school, Zach worked as a process engineer for a global semiconductor manufacturer in the research and development manufacturing lab.
