John Peloquin maintains a diverse practice representing clients in, patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation. His practical technical background includes experience in semiconductor devices and testing, computer software, and electromechanical systems.
John has experience representing a diverse array of clients in both judicial and administrative forums, specializing in inter partes review (IPR) and ex parte reexamination (EPR) proceedings before the Patent Trials and Appeals Board (PTAB). This includes work for both petitioners/requesters and patent owners, in technologies encompassing solar power systems, medical devices, content delivery networks, and cybersecurity systems. John also has experience assisting with district court litigation involving mechanical and computer software patents.
In addition to his litigation practice, John also represents clients in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications across a variety of technologies, specializing in electrical/electromechancial devices and computer software. John has experience developing patent portfolios for clients involved in technologies such as semiconductor test equipment, wireless telecommunications, support apparatus for emergency services, and aerospace power systems.
Prior to law school, John gained experience in fields spanning from semiconductors and nanotechnology to laser devices and design through his background in electrical engineering. Before joining Banner Witcoff, John earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the George Washington University School of Law. He began working at the firm in 2021 as a part-time law clerk through his final year of law school. Outside of the office, John is an enthusiastic skier and runner.
