Janet practices primarily in the area of trademark law, assisting clients maintain and expand their brands. She has experience working with a range of clients, industries and technologies on a variety of intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on trademark prosecution and enforcement, copyright prosecution and counseling matters, and online enforcement and strategy.
Janet reviews a broad spectrum of intellectual property matters, including trademark portfolio management and domain name management. She also has experience with online brand enforcement, and takedown proceedings to recover infringing domain names, including through the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDPR). Janet has written on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the impact of EU regulations on online brand enforcement.
Janet is committed to inclusion in the legal profession, serving as co-chair for the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Banner Witcoff and 2025 Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellowship. She is also a member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago (AABA Chicago), and National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL). Janet previously participated in LCLD as a 2023 Pathfinder.
She also previously served on the International Trademark Association (INTA) Enforcement Committee and as Chair of the Trademarks and Anti-Counterfeiting Committee with the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC).
