Elizabeth A. Almeter
Elizabeth A. Almeter focuses her practice on utility and design patent prosecution and litigation. Ms. Almeter’s experience includes preparation and prosecution of patents in the mechanical and computer arts. In addition, she has experience in prosecuting patents in the electrical and business method technologies and has extensive experience in the preparation and prosecution of design patents. Ms. Almeter also has experience in client counseling and patent litigation and was part of a litigation team that successfully represented a major toothbrush manufacturer in a matter that included both utility and design patents.
In addition, Ms. Almeter has successfully prosecuted several matters pertaining to athletic footwear and apparel and continues to focus her prosecution work in these areas. Most recently, Ms. Almeter has expanded her work to include the prosecution of athletic equipment to include golf club matters.
Prior to earning her J.D., Ms. Almeter worked as a Process Engineer for Praxair, Inc. She performed efficiency monitoring and provided engineering support for several air separation plants. In addition, Ms. Almeter worked in the Quality Implementation Group at Praxair where she assisted in developing quality policies implementing Food and Drug Administration guidelines for the medical gases industry and provided training on various quality policies to all levels of the Operations Organization.
Ms. Almeter earned her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and graduated cum laude from SUNY University at Buffalo Law School.
