DMV Corporate IP Roundtable Presents: Strategic Continuation Practice as Part of Building a Patent Portfolio

The next DMV Corporate IP Roundtable, “Strategic Continuation Practice as Part of Building a Patent Portfolio,” will be held in person at Patsy’s American on Wednesday, August 7, catering to the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) regions.

Ross Dannenberg and Scott M. Kelly will build upon their previous WITCON Delivered presentation on continuation practice and differences between the US and EU, exploring:

1) How to create strategic value in continuations,

2) Balancing the costs of ongoing continuations with limited IP budgets and finding a reasonable approach, and

3) The recent proposed rules and fees from the USPTO, which seem to signal a broad shift against longstanding continuation practices.

Benni Pfundner, senior associate at Kilburn & Strode UK, will join Scott and Ross to discuss divisional strategy in the EPO and other topics on building a portfolio in the UK/EU.

Lunch will be provided, and an application for 1 hour of CLE credit will be sought in VA. Attendees must register in advance. To register or for more information on the DMV Corporate IP Roundtable programs, email klaufenberg@bannerwitcoff.com.
