Banner Witcoff attorney Robert S. Katz will moderate a panel at the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) Leadership Meeting on Nov. 22 in Austin, Tex.

The panel, “Avoiding Design Patent Procurement and Enforcement Errors,” will highlight common errors made in design enforcement efforts. Rob —who serves as chair of INTA’s Design Committee — and the panelists will also provide tips on how to avoid errors.

INTA’s Leadership Meeting, which takes place Nov. 19-22, brings together the association’s leaders and volunteers once a year. The meeting offers attendees advanced-level educational programming and opportunities to network with colleagues from around the world.

Banner Witcoff attorney Darrell G. Mottley will speak at the Cleveland Intellectual Property Lawyers Association’s (CIPLA) International Committee meeting on Nov. 21.

Darrell will discuss the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs, which governs the international registration of industrial designs. The agreement went into effect in the U.S. in 2015, allowing U.S. applications to file a single international design application to obtain protection in multiple countries.

Darrell will highlight the agreement’s key features, examine its implications, and offer practice tips. He has spoken and written on this topic several times, including for a practice note published in Thomson Reuters Practical Law.
