David focuses on patent prosecution and litigation in electrical, computer, and software industries. David prosecutes patent applications for hardware and software-based technologies including semiconductors, mobile communications, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. He also has experience in inter partes review (IPR) and reexamination proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to his legal career, David gained extensive experience as a design electrical engineer on the research and development team for an international semiconductor manufacturing equipment company. His design efforts focused on heat control systems, robot control systems, and electrical safety systems for various types of equipment including deposition, etch, and ion implantation tools.
David earned his JD at University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, graduating summa cum laude and receiving multiple graduation awards: The Franklin Pierce Center of Intellectual Property Award and the Patent Law and Practice award. During law school, David served as Editor-in-Chief for Volume 64 of IDEA: The Law Review of the Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property and served as an intern at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit under the Honorable Judge Jimmie V. Reyna. Before joining Banner Witcoff full-time, David was also a summer associate at the firm.
David received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering, graduating with distinction from Clarkson University. During his undergraduate career, he gained hands-on learning experience in the area of electronics and computer systems.
