Banner Witcoff’s Kirk Sigmon was recently quoted in InfoWorld’s article, How to Succeed (or fail) with AI-Driven Development, on the inherent risks of AI-based programming.
In the article Kirk states, “most generally available AI-augmented development systems are trained on large swaths of data, and it’s not particularly clear where that data comes from,” he goes on to add that “code is protectable by copyright, meaning that it is very possible that AI-augmented development systems could output copyright-infringing code.”
