The American Bar Association’s Section on Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL) featured Banner Witcoff attorney Azuka Dike in a Feb. 1 post celebrating Black History Month.
Azuka is the ABA-IPL liasion to the ABA Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession. He also chairs Banner Witcoff’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
Reflecting on Black History Month, an annual celebration of the many achievements by and the centrol role of the Black community in U.S. history, Azuka said:
“Even in the midst of chaos and what, at times, can feel like perpetual discord, we welcome the celebration of Black History Month and the multitude of historical milestones that continue to shape our future. It is incumbent upon us all to pause and reflect on the richness of our culture, our Black History, our shared American History, and the pioneers of the past who have paved the way to our present.
The resilience and determination of our ancestors serve as a beacon of light to guide the next generation of innovators through the challenges and uncertainty that lay ahead. Although every great dream begins with a dreamer, to collectively meet these challenges we mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, inspiring curiosity that breaks us free from the confines of what we deem possible.
And so we celebrate, fully embracing the past with our gaze fixed upon the horizon, awaiting the dawn of a better tomorrow.”
