Patent Reform Bill S.23 Passes through U.S. Senate

On March 8, 2011, the U.S. Senate voted 95 to 5 to pass S. 23, the American Invents Act, also known as the Patent Reform Bill. The bill will now move to the U.S. House of Representatives, where a version of the legislation has yet to be introduced.
If the bill is enacted into the law, this would constitute the most significant patent reform implemented by Congress in the last 60 years.
