Patent Reform Bill H.R. 1249 passes through the U.S. House of Representatives

June 24, 2011
June 23, 2011, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 304-117 to pass the America Invents Act.  In March 2011, the U.S. Senate passed similar legislation. The differences between the House and Senate versions of the bill will now need to be reconciled before the final legislation can be sent to the President.
If this legislation is enacted into the law, this would constitute the most significant patent reform implemented by Congress in the last 60 years.
