The Illinois Supreme Court appointed Jeffrey M. Cox to serve as Chairperson of its Committee on Character and Fitness for the First Judicial District, effective January 1, 2008. This Committee evaluates the moral character and general fitness of applicants to practice law in Illinois and ensures that the applicants meet the professional standards established by the Supreme Court. Mr. Cox will serve as chairman for a two year term.
