DMV Corporate IP Roundtable to Provide Discussion on Invention Harvesting, Building a Patent Pipeline, and Inventor Incentives

The next Corporate IP Roundtable will take place in-person on Thursday, February 23 in Tysons, Virginia, catering to the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginal (DMV) regions. The discussion will focus on invention harvesting, building a patent pipeline, and inventor incentives.

Banner Witcoff Shareholder Scott M. Kelly will speak alongside Brandon Bludau, Chief Patent Counsel at Capital One. The duo will discuss best practices for establishing an invention intake process and working with outside counsel to build a patent pipeline to effectively identify, capture, and protect innovation from teams throughout the company. The discussion will also explore the role of patent incentives to help get inventors involved, as well as approaches for dealing with engineering teams that may be skeptical of filing patents.

Lunch will be provided, and an application for 1 hour of CLE credit will be sought in IL and VA. Attendees must register in advance. To register or for more information on the DMV Corporate IP Roundtable programs, email klaufenberg@bannerwitcoff.com.

Banner Witcoff launched the North Shore Corporate IP Roundtable program in 2017 in the Chicago metropolitan area. Due to its success, the firm expanded the initiative to two additional locations — Chicago’s west suburbs and in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.
