DMV Corporate IP Roundtable: Open Source, AI, and Licensing – Oh My!

The next DMV Corporate IP Roundtable will be held in person at Patsy’s American on Thursday, April 4, catering to the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) regions. The CLE presentation will focus on open source, AI, and licensing.

Ross Dannenberg of Banner Witcoff and Justin Mullen of Capital One will lead a group discussion on how in-house counsel deals with issues raised by the use of open-source software and employee contributions to open-source projects. The duo will also explore the USPTO and Copyright Office policies on contributions of AI/ML to novel technologies and creative works.

Lunch will be provided, and an application for 1 hour of CLE credit will be sought in VA. Attendees must register in advance. To register or for more information on the DMV Corporate IP Roundtable programs, email klaufenberg@bannerwitcoff.com.

Banner Witcoff launched the North Shore Corporate IP Roundtable program in 2017 in the Chicago metropolitan area. Due to its success, the firm expanded the initiative to two additional locations — Chicago’s west suburbs and in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.
