Banner Witcoff remembers patent agent, Kenneth Smolik, Ph.D.

Banner Witcoff remembers our friend and colleague Ken Smolik, who passed away on March 31, 2024. Ken joined the firm as a patent agent in 2001 and was a valuable member of the electrical and computer engineering practice. Ken earned a B.S., with highest honors, and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. With decades of experience in complex telecommunications technologies, Ken was awarded several patents by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

We offer our deepest condolences to the colleagues, friends and family who mourn his loss. Ken’s obituary was published in the Chicago Tribune.
