For the second year in a row, Banner Witcoff is pleased to sponsor the 2025 Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair, presented by the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association and Foundation, on July 28-30 in New York City. As part of its sponsorship, the firm will have a booth at the career fair.
According to its website, “Since its establishment in 1988, the Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair has played a pivotal role as a ‘family reunion’ for LGBTQ+ and ally legal professionals. This annual event not only provides an opportunity to reflect on the shared history of the LGBTQ+ legal community but also serves as a platform to envision the future of the legal profession.” The Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair is the largest LGBTQ+ legal conference in the United States.
The firm began its support of the conference in honor of attorney John Harris Curry, who passed away in 2024. John joined the firm as an attorney in its Washington DC office in 2017 and was a valued member of the electrical and computer engineering practice. Prior to joining the firm, John worked as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the area of display device technology. John earned his B.S. in electrical engineering and J.D. from The George Washington University.
