Banner & Witcoff Congratulates QuesTek Innovations Co-founder Gregory Olson for his 2013 Creative Achievement Award

May 3, 2013

The Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC) has awarded its 2013 Creative Achievement Award to Dr. Gregory B. Olson, Sc.D., the co-founder of firm client QuesTek Innovations LLC and a tenured professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University, for his success in developing alloys using sophisticated computer analytic software.

Dr. Olson is an internationally-recognized leader and pioneer in the field of computational materials design. He created several novel concepts, including PRECIPICALC® proprietary software, which amalgamates publically available software and technical data to identify and create new alloys less expensively by eliminating “trial and error” techniques. As a result of this research and vision, he discovered numerous patented alloys that were successfully licensed to major steel producers. These include Ferrium®S53® and Ferrium®C61™, which were specifically designed to meet the strength and durability requirements of demanding aerospace and transmission applications.
IPLAC created the Creative Achievement Award to recognize those behind the creative works protected by patent, trademark and copyright law. The association presented the award to Dr. Olson at its annual meeting on May 2.
Banner & Witcoff congratulates QuesTek’s Dr. Olson for this significant achievement. Please click here for more information about IPLAC and here for more information about the award.
