Banner Witcoff has been recognized in Law360’s Diversity Snapshot as one of the top 25 firms for minority attorneys among law firms of its size.
For the ranking, Law360 collected demographic data from more than 300 U.S. law firms on their attorneys as of Dec. 31, 2018. The publication then grouped firms based on attorney headcount to evaluate their diversity against similarly sized firms, and excluded from the ranking any firm that had a below average minority representation.
“It’s no secret that the legal industry is one of the least diverse professions in the country. But some law firms have made notable progress,” Law360 noted in a July 7 article about the ranking, adding that the firms listed “are making some headway and turning longstanding diversity goals into workplace realities.”
Banner Witcoff is committed to strengthening diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and in the field of intellectual property, as well as fostering a firm culture that values the differences among its attorneys, legal professionals, and staff.
To this end, nearly half of the firm’s leaders are women and minorities, and Banner Witcoff has awarded nearly $100,000 in tuition through the Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship for Law Students. The firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts remain ongoing.
