The Legal 500 has recognized Bank of America Corporation Chief IP Counsel Keith Agisim in its Corporate Counsel 100: United States, an inaugural publication that identifies the top corporate legal advisers in the country.
The Legal 500 honored Mr. Agisim for his work at Bank of America, which includes engineering some of the most sophisticated procedures and policies that are now widely used for patent procurement, and leading the bank’s efforts to protect trademarks and strengthen its brand. The publication also noted Mr. Agisim’s role as chairman of the Financial Services Roundtable’s IP Committee and contribution to patent reform; his role as vice-chairman of The Clearing House Association’s IP and Technology Committee and assistance with the amicus brief for In re Bilski; and his participation in a series of FTC hearings that explored patent law changes and patent-related business models.

The Legal 500 selected the top 100 in-house counsel through nominations from 2.5 million in-house readers and partners at law firms. According to the publication, these are in-house counsel “who are changing or forming opinions within their company or industry; have developed brilliant technical solutions to complex issues; created innovative structures to ensure that the in-house function is driving the business forward; provided a diversity or business working model that other corporate counsel should follow.”
