Banner Witcoff’s Chris Glembocki will serve as a US industry delegate to the Industry Trilateral (IT3) meetings on October 20 and 21. The IT3 is a forum for the discussion of substantive patent law harmonization and includes representatives of the USPTO, the JPO, the EPO, and industry groups.
Chris will also be a panelist representing all industry during a panel discussion titled, “Strengthening the Patent System by Utilizing Advanced Information Technology (IT) Tools to Create Efficiencies and Improve Patent Examination Quality (Part 1).”
The Trilateral Offices and WIPO will discuss the evolving patent application filing landscape, identify filing trends, including increased or decreased patent applications filings, and discuss the impact on office practices and procedures (e.g., cross-discipline training). The participants will also exchange best practices for mitigating challenges stemming from the changing patent landscape (e.g., training on specific emerging technologies) and modernizing IT tools and/or systems.
