Comcast v. Rovi (Petitioner Experience)

  • Banner Witcoff filed four waves of IPRS on behalf of Comcast in defense of multiple ITC and district court attacks by Rovi.
    • First wave: filed against 15 patents and led to invalidity or dismissal in the litigation of every asserted claim in 14 of the 15 patents
    • Second wave: filed against eight patents and resulted in the invalidity of every claim in seven challenged patents, with Rovi asking the PTAB to cancel the claims in the eighth patent
