Reuters has published the “Patenting Blockchain Inventions Checklist,” co-authored by Hengyi Jiang of Banner Witcoff, in the January issue of Practical Law: The Journal.
Jiang collaborated with Aseet Patel, founder and CEO of PatentOAResponse.com, and Jenifer Lake, a patent agent and patent program manager at a Fortune 500 financial services firm, to create a comprehensive checklist for evaluating and patenting blockchain-related inventions.
The checklist outlines key steps, including conducting invention disclosure meetings to assess Section 101 patent eligibility and addressing U.S. Patent and Trademark Office claim rejections. It also highlights the technical features and improvements often required to overcome such rejections.
