Banner Witcoff attorneys and staff got together on Wednesday, December 1, to gear up for the holidays by stuffing over 200 stockings for Soldiers’ Angels Holiday Stockings for Heroes. The stockings were distributed to the VA medical center and at the mobile food distribution Soldiers’ Angels holds for low-income and homeless veterans in Charleston, S.C. The firm’s Veteran’s and Women’s Alliance groups partnered together to host the event. Attorneys and staff filled the stockings with mini board games, snacks, cookies, puzzles, and homemade cards.
“Service members deployed overseas and veterans in VA hospitals will greatly appreciate receiving these items and especially the homemade personal cards,” said Matt May, head of the Banner Witcoff Veteran’s Alliance group and Army Reservist. “The holidays can be a difficult time for many of them being away from home and their family and friends and receiving these little care packages can help brighten their holiday time.”
Soldiers’ Angels Holiday Stockings for Heroes coordinates with people and companies across the nation to send stuffed holiday stockings to deployed service members or veterans in VA hospitals. This year, the Soldiers’ Angels donation goal was 35,000, but they will donate over 42,000.
