Banner Witcoff attorney Binal J. Patel will receive the 2019 Law Firm Partner Diversity Leadership Award from the Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago (AABA-Chicago) on Sept. 17.
Binal will be honored “for his substantial and lasting contributions to the legal profession, as well as the broader Chicago Asian-American community,” the president of AABA-Chicago said in an announcement.
A member of Banner Witcoff’s board of directors, Binal has played an instrumental role in promoting the advancement of diverse attorneys in Chicago and across the country as the co-founder of the Indian-American Bar Association of Chicago and the North American South Asian Bar Association.
He will receive the award at the association’s 32nd Annual Installation Ceremony and Awards Reception on Sept. 17 at St. Jane Hotel in Chicago. Banner Witcoff is sponsoring the event.
Also receiving awards will be Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot; Courtney Fong, chief legal officer and chief privacy officer at CompTIA; Kristina Yi, chief of the Homicide Task Force at the Cook County Public Defender’s Office; and Jean Y. Liu, an attorney with Kaufman, Dolowich & Voluck.
