With a Ph.D. in biology and more than two decades of legal experience, Lisa offers clients a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and life science industries and the skills to protect their valuable intellectual property efficiently and effectively.

Lisa focuses her practice on the prosecution and management of worldwide patent portfolios in the life sciences industry. She provides counseling, including patentability and freedom to operate opinions and validity studies, and assists clients with IP due diligence investigations in connection with licensing, acquisition, and investment. She has a knack for developing relationships with clients ranging from pharmaceutical industry giants to small pharmaceutical ventures, and her involvement with commercial products includes small molecule pharmaceuticals, antibodies and cell-based immunotherapies, vaccines, and nucleic acid therapies.

Lisa earned her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, where she focused her research on developmental neuroscience, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in molecular biology from Smith College. Before graduating from the University of Maryland School of Law, Lisa gained valuable experience as an assistant research professor in the Neurology and Cell Biology departments at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and as a post-doctoral fellow at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and at the Eunice Shriver Center in Waltham, Massachusetts, where she held concurrent research positions at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
