Robert S. Katz presents “Hot Topics in Design Law – The Hague, Apple v. Samsung, Owens, and more” to the International Intellectual Property Society in New York, NY.

The presentation will focus on recent and emerging important design related issues.  The United States will soon be implementing the Hague Agreement for Industrial Designs.  How will this impact the procurement strategy for design applicants?  The Apple v. Samsung case was one of the most important cases for design patents of all time.  What lessons can be learned from that case?   In re Owens has been argued and currently awaiting a decision from the Federal Circuit and a decision will likely be rendered prior to this presentation.  How will the Owens decision impact design procurement strategies in the U.S.?  These and other hot topics impacting designs will be discussed.
