May 15, 2006

Timothy C. Meece was interviewed by and quoted in articles for IP Law 360, E-Commerce Times and InformationWeek regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision in MercExchange v. eBay. MercExchange had been granted a permanent injunction after prevailing on its claim for patent infringement for eBay’s “Buy It Now” feature. The U.S. Supreme Court vacated the injunction and implemented a new four-part test to evaluate requests for permanent injunctive relief.

Mr. Meece’s comments can be seen in the IP Law 360 article “Supreme Court Throws Out eBay Injunction,”, the E-Commerce Times article “eBay Scores Supreme Court Win in Patent Case,” and the InformationWeek article “Supreme Court Ruling Could Change Balance Of Power In Patent Infringement Cases.”. Each of these articles was published on May 15, 2006.
