Banner Witcoff Celebrates 20 Years Leading Design Patent Procurement

For the 20th year in a row, Banner Witcoff obtained more U.S. design patents than any other law firm in the country in 2022. According to USPTO records, the firm obtained 949 U.S. design patents in 2022 as well as more than 1,400 utility patents and over 200 U.S. trademark registrations.

With the 2022 numbers, Banner Witcoff has acquired more than 16,000 U.S. design patents in the last twenty-five years. The firm has procured portfolios of 100 or more design patents for more than a dozen different clients and design patent portfolios of 40 or more for more than 30 different clients.  During that span, the firm has helped to successfully enforce hundreds of design patents.

“Banner Witcoff is immensely proud to hold this record for another consecutive year,” said shareholder Robert S. Katz. “Two decades is long time.  We are thankful that our design-driven clients continue to put their trust in us and our strategies to protect their most important designs.  We are also thankful to work with talented industrial designers who work at the leading edge of design.”

No one is better at obtaining U.S. design patents than Banner Witcoff. We represent multinational, innovative design-driven companies in both the prosecution of design patent applications in the U.S. and around the world, and in the enforcement of their design patents. Many of our clients entrust substantial portions of or their entire patent portfolios to us.
